Schooner Days DCCCXXVI (826)

First Of All Sails Into Niagara, 10 Dec 1947

In this installment, the author suggests that La Salle's original ships, Le Frontenac and the Griffon were the first sailing vessels on the Great Lakes and were most probably "schooner" rigged. He also announces the publication of an Archibald MacMechan retrospective Tales of the Sea, containing some of his best work from his "There go the Ships", "Old Province Tales" and "Sagas of the Sea.".
