Exhibition art storage (curatorial)

The Naval Marine Archive:The Canadian Collection has a large collection of paintings and models and these are not all able to be on public display at the same time. Thus we needed suitable storage for artwork (paintings, prints, lithographs) to curatorial standards of protection which would allow for more frequent rotation with ground and second floor gallery hanging space.

We requested funds to purchase steel shelving with wood deck and recieved funding for the five units and extra shelving. Covid slowed the process of delivery and then the assembly of the units but by the first of Janaury 2022, the art work and models were safely stored and accessible.

We wish to thank the Prince Edward County Community Grant Program for funding this important improvement to safeguard the collections.

The visitors to the gallery enjoy seeing the artwork and the models and learning about the history and the importance of our past.

With our thanks to the Prince Edward County Foundation.
