Our "Yachting World" collection

Yachting World
Yachting World

Yachting World has had its finger on the pulse of sailing since 1894. The editors reckon they are the most enthusiastic sailing fans in the world: they love boats of all kinds, modern and classic, they like racing and cruising, are fascinated by innovation yet revere tradition, and nothing that floats is too big or too small for their tastes. We hold an incomplete collection up to the 1970's - sporadic thereafter

We also hold most of the Yachting World Annual from 1953 to 1973 – including its pre-war predecessor "The Yachtsman's Annual and Who's Who, 1938-9" – please see our main catalogue entry.

Left: Cover of the May 26, 1899 edition Price Threepence, with news on Sir Thomas Lipton's - Shamrock's - challenge for the "America" Cup including complete details of the crew selected.
